Event Recap
When you are weighing the risks at the beginning stages of a new business venture, wouldn't it be great to have a few guidelines of what to think about, but also on what to avoid?
That is exactly what happened at this event in San Francisco. Naeem Zafar of UC Berkeley and Chris McCann of Startup Digest came together as a dynamic duo and discussed such points as the value of finding the right co-founders or anticipating the irregular chash flow all startups experience. Some other take away points focused on finding the correct market that is ready for your product and finding the right way to retain and hit critical mass so that you business will grow exponentially.
One of the most intersting points that came from the great Q&A that took place after the keynotes was talking about timing. Building a product can take years, and both Chris and Naeem offered up examples of how you can build the most advanced product or innovative service but you find that there is no clients or customers. Timing is essential, but listening to your potential market is even more important than dumping money and time into your product. Validate that there is a need.
We want to thank both of our speakers for joining us for the event and sharing their perspective. We also want to thank all who attended and remind everyone to take a look at the services that are exclusive to EFactor members in our Toolbox.
If you missed this event, we will be posting video of the event on the EFactor Media page shortly.

7 Steps to a Successful Startup and 7 Ways to a Failed Startup
Starting your own business is an exhilarating yet overwhelming experience. Entrepreneurs don't like to write a business plan. But how does one know that there is real potential for their idea. Are there certain paths that should or shouldn't be taken? What should I do and what should I avoid?
Short and to the point, this talk offers practical and powerful questions that all entrepreneurs must consider. If they can answer these questions it will fundamentally improve their chances to succeed in any startup.
Naeem Zafar, a serial entrepreneur and Haas School of Business at Berkeley professor, will be discussing these questions in depth and give tangible examples of why they are so crucial for an entrepreneur to consider.
Chris McCann, co-founder of StartupDigest.com and a prominent figure in the Silicon Valley startup arena, is going to touch on what he has seen as the ways to fail at building a startup.

Perhaps you still have a day job and are contemplating launching your own company-or perhaps you have lots of ideas and are wondering which one is most likely to succeed. These seven points will answer your most essential questions-questions that your investors will soon be asking you or that you should have asked when it was too late!
