Think Global, Act Local

Event Recap

What a great evening we all had in Dallas last night!!

On a day where the temperatures soared outside, we met with over 70 enthusiastic entrepreneurs in the Tower Club in Dallas, one of the E.Factor lounges.

Regaling from his long career as an international business man, Adrie Reinders gave a wonderful overview of the do's and don'ts of doing business both locally and globally. He emphasised that even domestically, you had to beware of the many cultural differences between for instance Texas and New York, or East Coast West Coast. He went on to highlight the things to watch out for when crossing the domestic borders using many anecdotes from his own experience.

Besides the differences in culture that you will experience when dealing with other nations, there are also those discrepancies you need to be aware of between different generations (the older ones often having the money to spend, and the younger one needing to spend it!) as well as the differences online versus offline. How you promote your business on Social Media actually often isnt' so very different from how you would tackle it in the "real" world, but you have to consider your audience and always keep your objectives in mind. All this and much more - all in one session. Many of the attendees walked away feeling that they had learnt or relearnt something, the ultimate goal of our E.Factor sessions.

At the end of the evening - Rodney explained the E.Factor Lounge concept, pointing out the importance of using the premiere private clubs that E.Lounge membership gives you access to. It isn't only that you have a great location to take your clients to lunch or host a meeting, but the people you meet there that could be your next client, or financier. For a few days only, E.Factor members may use the special code: DALEVT to gain access to this great E.Lounge membership at only US$30/month - a saving of US$45/month of the regular price.
