How Entrepreneurs will make the difference

This week, I and the whole world with me, was shaken to the core when learning of the huge earthquake that befell Haiti. I was watching events unfold, and every single story of every single human being that lived through or died in the quake, just wrenched my heart. It makes you wish you could do more then just sit and watch the TV coverage and of course you can - by providing financial support that will go to help rebuild this beatiful country. Help restore the community and hopefully help re-unite families that have been torn apart, although for many this will be impossible as their loved ones are buried deep under the rubble of the buildings that once stood along the streets of Port-au-Prince.

The Haitians will need help. Not just now - but over the years to come. In a very contradictory way - NOW is the easiest it will be, right now the media are covering every second, people all over the world send their prayers, support, money and goods, governments are intent on helping out and providing their armies and heavy equipment to ease the suffering and clear the way for rebuilidng the country.

But next week, or next month, and in the next years - Haiti will still need our support. And I believe strongly that it is Entrepreneurs, like you and me, that can make a huge difference in how Haiti is rebuilt. It will be local Entrepreneurs that re-start their businesses and open their doors that will provide the early glimmers for a new economy in Haiti. It is Entrepreneurs that will start rebuilding the infrastructure and literally will create the road to recovery.
And it is Entrepreneurs all over the world that should support every inch of the way that these local businesses will have to travel. With advice, with physical help, with money and with goods.
