Well folks I responded to a request Roeland did on Twitter looking for more bloggers here on E.Factor. He then connected me to Martijn to get started. My plan is to share with you some tips in the blog around personal productivity and alliances. However first Martijn asked me to start with his Q&A to make myself more known to the E.Factor community, so here we go:
Q/A What is entrepreneurship for you? What was your dream job when you were a kid? Why and how did you start your company? Is this your first business? If you were to start another business, what might it be? What were some of the early companies you worked with?
What is your:
Name: Peter Simoons
Age: 46
Country: The Netherlands
City: Bussum
>> Entrepreneurship for me is related to the fact that the entrepreneur takes up a challenge most often created by themselves and execute upon that differently then established businesses do. They respond more agile, see opportunity everywhere and are risk takers but also continues learners.
>> Not sure if I had a dream job other then every young boy probably had a time he wanted to become a firefighter or police man. Actually growing up I never considered those seriously :-)
>> Right now I started the company next to my day job, basically to make my business passions available in a coaching style to others.
>> No, it is my fourth business
>> Well, you never know. Maybe a business model that would offer my coaching efforts in very relaxed and sunny environments, who knows.
>> IBM, Company at Work, Alpha Computer Diensten
What is your definition of success and have you achieved it?
>> Success has a moving target, as you climb up the ladder of success you will probably renegotiate or redefine what success means for you. From that perspective: yes I have achieved it many times.
Who has influenced you the most and has been your greatest inspiration?
>> Most, hmm, not sure if there is one single person who inspired me most, again it depends on the moment in life. Most recent people like David Allen, Robin Sharma and Wayne Dyer are among them. A bit more back in time there was a mentor inside IBM who was a great inspirational person to me. Even a bit more back in time when one of my former businesses went sour both Adrie and Roeland Reinders were quite inspirational to me and kept me going by their actions and behavior.
What advice would you give to people who are thinking of becoming a entrepreneur?
>> Think carefully then follow your dreams
Describe/outline to us what your typical day looks like?
>> There is not such a thing as a typical day ;-)
Do you achieve balance in your life?
>> O yes absolutely
Where you see yourself and your business in 3 years?
>> With happy coaching clients that are happy because they have achieved an inspirational success based on the coaching we did and their new found balance through improved personal productivity as a result of the coaching.
And as a final question: If we could introduce you to anyone, who would it be and why? (you never know who we know!)
>> Anyone who will be interested and can benefit from my coaching towards a personal inspiring success through improved personal productivity, collaboration and continues learning.
