About that time of year again to start thinking about the fall/winter collections and trends. Let me list some for you.

1. unusual shapes are everywhere this fall, think volume in the sleeves, capes, tulip skirts
2. leather, not just shoes, boots, bags and jackets but also dresses, jumpsuits (argh) and skirts
3. streetwear, urban clothes are still ‘hip’ this fall, think bold colours, trainers and designer streetwear
4. fabrics, combine a boucle skirt with a silk blouse or leather with knitwear
5. black and white, Chanel inspired outfits
6. leggings..  oh yes they are here to stay, metallic, prints, leather and denim-ish
7. pink! expect to see a lot of this fall
8. platforms, the unwearable kind …

So how do you wear these trends as a business women or man? Sometimes when we look at the catwalk designs its hard to imagine walking into a boardroom wearing these outfits.... However, some of this season's trends are great for a business environment. Think leather pencil skirt with a fabulous silk blouse or a structured suit with puff sleeves.

The black and white Chanel inspired trend is perfect for business women, I can't imagine a more sophisticated look.  We can leave the leggings and streetwear for the weekend and wear pink accessories with our suit. Platform shoes are totally wearable as long as the platform isn't too outrageous.

Guys, I havent forgotten about you... Men will notice that suit design is slowely becoming  a little more masculine. This does not mean that the skinny suit is on the way out, it just broadens your choices. Colours for men are mostly grey, black and white, some petrol and burgundy and even some camel. Quality remains key, its all in the fabric.
