On March 25th, EFactor hosted an exciting Made For China Startup Competition Global Final in the Jinghang Conference Center, with the Government of Yangzhou Guangling District. A total of 800 people attended this event. Which included the leaders of Central Zhigong Party, leaders of National Science Department, leaders of National Education Department, leaders of National Foreign Experts Department, leaders of China Incubator for Students Studying Abroad, governors of Jiangsu Province, Mayor of Yangzhou city, and governor of Yangzhou Guangling District.
We had 8 competing teams, investors from the Jiangsu Province, and 5 distinguished judges: Mr. Xiaoping Xu, Super Angel and Founder of Zhen Fund, Mr. Wanshan Wu, CEO of Huatai Securities and Nanfang Fund, Mr. Datong Chen, CEO of Huashan Capital, Mrs. Yuanlan Gao, CEO of Gaoshengxing Investment&Counsulation Company, and Mr. Qianri Zai, Director of Yangzhou Science&Technology Bureau.
The competition started off with the CEO of EFactor Holdings, Mr. Adrie Reinders, giving a fantastic welcome speech. He welcomed the competing teams from US & China, and encouraged the young entrepreneurs from all over the world to chase their dreams bravely.
With 8 regional finalists from 4 regional finals-San Francisco, Boston, Beijing and Shanghai, the competition for the final prizes was fierce. Each team had 10 mins to present their business plan, and 5 mins to answer the judges questions. Each presentation were very appealing to the judges, however, it raised many questions from the judges during the Q&A portion.
With a stiff competition it was a fairly hard decision for the judges to choosing a winner. First place of 500,000 RMB went to the 4+1 Health team from Shanghai(http://www.efactor.com/profile/view/id/1712875/), second place of 250,000 RMB went to the Nano Beam from Boston, and third place of 100,000 RMB went to the ShockEner team(http://www.efactor.com/profile/view/id/1712909/) from Beijing and Translate Abroad from San Francisco (http://www.efactor.com/profile/company/id/17011/). As an added bonus the judges awarded the Clear Ear from San Francisco a Special Prize of 25,000 RMB.
Later that night an awarding ceremony was held at the Jinghang Conference Center where the competing teams received their prizes from Marion Freijsen - COO of EFactor Holdings, Adrie Reinders - CEO of EFactor Holdings, Xiaoping Xu - Super Angel and Founder of Zhen Fund, and Mr. Xi Chen - Governor of Guangling District. Mr Adrie Reinders then gave a speech about EFactor’s development and his entrepreneurial experience. Followed by Mr Xiaoping Xu giving a speech about Enterprising and Interests.
The Global Final was a great and successful event. During the private dinner, many people asked for more details about EFactor and the Yangzhou Government invited EFactor to present more Made For China Startup Competition for the next 5 years in Yangzhou.

EFactor Presents: “Made For China Startup Competition” Yangzhou Global Final
“Made For China” Startup Competition Global Final will be held at the Jinghang Convention Center in Yangzhou, China on March, 25th 2012.
The top two teams from each regional finals will be participating in the global finals:
San Francisco, CA - Translate Abroad and Clear Ear
Boston, MA - Nano Beam and Vasculogic
Beijing, China - Hulai and ShockEner
Shanghai, China - Yumu Science and Microclimate
Each team will be given a free flight ticket to Yangzhou, China and compete in the global finals. The 8 finalist teams will give a full presentation about their startup/business ideas for 15 minutes and have 10 minutes to answer questions from the judges.
The distinguished judges will include Mr. Xu Xiaoping - the founder of Zhen Fund, Mr. Shen Nanpeng - the founder of Hongshan Capital, Mr. Li Kaifu - the founder of Innovation Workshop, and Mr. Xu Dalin - the founder of H&Q Asia Pacific will determine the top three teams in first, second and third place.
During this event the government officers, famous venture capitalists, angel investors and entrepreneurs of Yangzhou will be attending the Global Final.
At the Awarding Ceremony, prizes will be given to the winners of the regional and global finalist.
The prizes for the winners are as followed:
Global Final Winners
1st Place: 500,000 Yuan
2nd Place: 200,000 Yuan
3rd Place: 100,000 Yuan
Regional Final Winners
1st Place: 30,000 Yuan
2nd Place: 20,000 Yuan
