EFactor Presents

The nation’s best grapes are in California, so EFactor headed to San Francisco’s Blush! Wine Bar last week to present “Just for Wine-O’s: The Business of Grapes,” a vino-centric event that featured entrepreneurs from big and small wine companies, discussing how they were able to get their businesses off the ground, into the vineyards and on the map! We were delighted to host wine experts Josh Stein, Jef Pauly and John Trinidad, who shared tips on where to get started in the business, how to work with distributors, how to sell your product to consumers and how to get your brand noticed through sponsorship and PR opportunities.
Josh Stein has been a mainstay in the Napa wine business for over 10 years, as the owner of the Stein Family Wine Group, which distributes throughout the US and all over the globe. The company is proud to donate 5% of its sales to the children of wineworkers, in the form of college scholarships and support funds, and Stein also makes time to act as a consultant for wineries and organizations throughout the North Bay and coastal California through the company’s subsidiaries, Discrete Wine Support Services and SF-Integrated Vineyard Management.
Jef Pauly is the owner of Blush! Wine Bar, a four-year-old bar that adds some European flare to the Castro District of San Francisco, focusing on eclectic and unique bottles from all over the world. At the event, Pauly shared his best marketing tip: he encouraged all aspiring wine bar owners to always provide exceptional service to their customers, no matter what. Pauly shared general wine industry tips with event attendees, including info on creating partnerships and on selling your product.
John Trinidad is a wine law attorney at Napa-based firm Dickenson, Peatman & Fogarty. A former litigator at a top SF firm and founder of SF Wine Blog, Trinidad became more and more interested in the wine industry, eventually even getting the opportunity to work harvests in Europe. Working off of his growing network, Trinidad developed into a wine law attorney and today advises wineries and other alcoholic beverage-related businesses on legal matters, achieving the perfect bouquet of personal passion and professional experience. To our event attendees, Trinidad provided a detailed summary of currently legal regulations and stipulations related to the wine industry.
Our event attendees enjoyed plenty of tasting opportunities to boot, and their glasses runneth over with insider information on all things grape. We can’t thank our presenters and venue/sponsor, Blush! Wine Bar, for making the event that much sweeter. Cheers to turning passions into successful businesses!
We’d like to give a special thanks to our sponsors, Charlesbridge Publishing Company, No More To Go, and Essentiles.
