Biography:
In 2000, Lars Windhorst was aiming to see his holding company, Windhorst AG, listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The stock market was booming at the time, and the company invested heavily into the New Economy, which was mainly the Internet sector. Little did anyone suspect that in 2001 the hi-tech industry and stock market would come crashing down, leaving Windhorst AG with heavy financial difficulties.
Lars Windorst bounded back into business and co-founded Sapinda, an investment group. With investment transactions reaching more than 2 billion Euros in a period of five years, the company was doing well.
In 2008 a global financial recession rocked the world sending the stock market down once again. This time, it took a matter of months for Sapinda to undergo a restructuring phase, managed by the shareholders. In March of 2009 the company was back in business with Lars Windhorst taking charge of Sapinda Deutschland GmbH and the business activities attributed to one sector of the group.
