An update from a starting entrepreneur

Finally a new blog for E.Factor!

I have been very busy at my normal job in the bank and since the browser over there doesn’t support all the necessary plugins, I can’t visit the E.factor site properly.

But I have good news, since this week I have the E-lounges membership on E.Factor so I’m now sitting at Spaces Herengracht. It’s a perfect place to work and meet people. So from now on you can find me every Wednesday at Spaces.
Also, I have found a great designer who is willing to work with me. You can find his work at www.goxhosa.com. He will start designing for me in about a month. After that we will start producing in various countries in Europe.

Further, I’m working on the financials, an important part of the business. Fashion is cash management, there is a large outflow of cash, but also a steady inflow of cash (for my business model). In order to have business running smoothly I have to bring the in- and outflows as close as possible to each other. Narrowing the gap means less debt, so less costs. Also, when things go wrong, I won’t end up totally bankrupt. That is, for now. If we start working with larger investments, we have to make sure the model is flawless.  The financials look good, the income is steady and sure because I will be able to sell at large profits (how, that’s a secret unless you are interested).

Regarding the bank, I still work there. Busy with risk management for the Separation & Integration from ABN AMRO to The Royal Bank of Scotland. My contract will terminate in June so if anyone knows something suitable for me, please let me know.

Finally, I’m enjoying the events of E.Factor. A couple of weeks ago we had a great dinner at BO5. Hope to go there a lot! If you visit one of the events we could meet up and have a chat!

See you soon,

Derek
