Stainless Steel and Swiss Time Piece

Men and Women made of Stainless Steel & Swiss Time Pieces…

The above is my definition of an Entrepreneur – we simply never stop. Rain or shine, good times or bad times, whether your luck is in or seems to have abandoned you for ever… we still continue.

I think it is a gene that they have not yet discovered which forms part of an entrepreneurs' make-up. Scientists have spent decades on finding out what makes the character of an entrepreneur different, what the key elements are that make you succeed against all odds or determined when it seems to the rest of the world that you are simply setting out on a path to failure. But you know, deep in your heart, that you are right. And you prove the world wrong – time and time again.

I believe in Entrepreneurship with the same passion and confidence that I believe in my own abilities. It isn’t arrogance, I know I am human and therefore will fail from time to time. And so entrepreneurship will go through ups and downs too. But I believe that overall, my successes will outlive my failures and my path will be an upward one.
I also, quite strongly, believe that our whole world is becoming more and more ready to embrace entrepreneurship, I believe that entrepreneurship is what will turn this crisis around, and I believe that we, the older generation, owe it to ourselves and to all that follow in our footsteps, to support and enthuse the younger generation to explore being an entrepreneur.

I don’t think that we should tell our youngsters to go and get a great job, because it will make them good money, provide for their families (to be) and give them security – because we have proven in the past decades that none of these values are true any longer. We need to revisit our society’s belief system and review it with an open mind. The only conclusion can be that when you do that, you will see that if you do NOT own your own business, or work in partnership with those that do – you will have none of the things that your parents had – no security, no good money and no providing for your family. The only way to build capital, outside of gambling it away on the stock exchanges, is by building your own company. That is the one share in the entire world you can control, that will rise as you grow the business, that is based on your own sweat and effort and that ultimately will provide for your kids.

Stainless Steel and Swiss Time Pieces = We Never Stop = Entrepreneurship.
Now go out and spread the word!

@Marion: Great post. After reading it, I got all excited and can think one thing: Amen! I agree. I wrote my master thesis about entrepreneurship... Can one learn to be an entrepreneur or not... Chicken-Egg story! But you are right, we are only human and yes we make mistakes... But hey: What doesn't kill is, makes us stronger, right?

I also agree that a new generation of entrepreneurs is waking up. Marion is only slightly more 'aged' than I am, but I already feel a new generation getting ready... Guys, if you are out there (or even better, here on E.Factor) holler at us :)

You hit my weak spot with the title: Swiss watches. Nice metaphor ;)
