I would highly suggest focusing less on sites like digg, and stumble upon and get the smaller web communities first. My first suggestion is www.reddit.com. Although the community is less than digg's 20 million strong, you will have more success in a small community like reddit at 600,000 members. From there you can make your own topics and categories and get more exposure on the web. Hope this helps.

Interest? If your profile/page on these networking sites are interesting or just active, they'll want to check out your site. Humans are nosey, give them a reason to check out your webpage.

What's the driver? Is it the eye candy, the red nose, the hot topic? I think its simplicity in the offering. Better, Cheaper, Faster, that's our tag line. What's your tag line? More importantly what value do you wish to convey? Your website is now visible and yet the service you are providing remains a mystery. I appreciate the query, and enjoy the commentary.

The easy way to do so is to email all your friends asking them to vote what ever you submit on digg and other book marking sites. In this way your link popularity will increase and people would like to click on it and check that out.

There is nothing called "easy ways". You have to work for it. Post good and unique contents with link back to your site in these social networking sites. If you will build a good community out there, then you will be successful in driving backlinks and traffic from these sites.
