Biography:
University of Pennsylvania/Wharton, a “Hedge” Fund portfolio management job then resignation to pursue an acting career. Took a stop-gap “real job”, in the brutal mercenary world of non-carnivorous “cannibalism”, that is “headhunting” or executive search. This presaged many years of toil in this seamy enterprise. It also led to London relocation to build a European business. Entrepreneurial activities, extensive European travel-Amsterdam the preferred destination on a multitude of visits, the sowing of the wildest oats and a near death experience ensued. Back in America with a fifteen year odyssey (greed, deceit, venality, indulgence, etc.) to draw upon as fodder for compelling drama, Michael studied acting, performing in Edinburgh during the festival and on Theater Row. Translation of the actor/writer symbiosis to passion for creating narrative became manifest through study with Robert McKee, Milan Stitt and at the Ensemble Studio Theater. THE MEANING, an autobiographical one act play, the winner of a One-Act-Play Festival in New York. ORBITING FRIEDA, a play in two acts, chosen semi-finalist in the American Theater Co-Op spring competition. ENTERPRISING, a finalist in ‘The Movie Deal’ screenplay contest and chosen as the best dramatic script at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival.
