About the speakers:
Michael A. Silva is a partner in DLA Piper's Tax practice, based in Miami. Mr. Silva focuses his practice on international tax law, with emphases on US investment structures, cross-border tax issues, tax treaty planning, withholding obligations of US real property investments and US activities of foreign banks.
Kevin Levy is a business, corporate and technology attorney at Gunster Law Firm for Business. For more than fifteen years, Mr. Levy has represented global technology companies, as well as local entrepreneurial ventures, and he has proactively assisted these innovative companies with minimizing risk and maximizing opportunities. Mr. Levy also has extensive experience providing strategic counseling and negotiating transactions for both U.S. and foreign-based clients. He is frequently interviewed by the media on current business and technology law issues and trends, and he has received recognition from numerous industry publications, including: The Best Lawyers in America , Super Lawyers, Florida Trend, South Florida Business Journal and Business Leader Media. He is the current Chair of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Technology & Bioscience Committee and the current Chair of the Florida Bar’s Computer & Technology Law Committee.
