EFactor Presents: Crowdfunding Explained

EFactor partnered with The Soho Loft, a global event platform that strives to promote strategic and diligent mainstream and alternative investing for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises, to bring you Crowdfunding webinar series.

Crowdfunding as an industry is at the threshold of discovering its unique set of strengths, weaknesses, challenges and opportunities. This webinar aims to encapsulate the history and development of the crowdfunding movement through the perception and views of the leading crowdfunding experts.


David Drake, founder and Chairman of LDJ Capital in New York City and has been involved in technology media and telecom (TMT), realty, mineral & energy, clean tech and impact investments for over 20 years. Mr. Drake is also the founder of The Soho Loft Capital Creation Series covering the Private Company Marketplace and and a founding board member of Crowd Funding Intermediary Regulatory Advocates (CFIRA).

Candace Klein, founder and CEO of two successful startup companies: Bad Girl Ventures and SoMoLend. Bad Girl Ventures is a non-profit, micro-finance organization focused on educating and financing woman-owned startup companies. BGV has financed 26 women with $700,000. SoMoLend is new technology platform that connects business borrowers seeking loans of $1,000,000 or less with lenders looking to make a return on investment. To date, SoMoLend has partnered with KeyBank, who has committed to lending at least $1 million on SoMoLend, and up to $50 million, in the first year of operations. 

David Borish, owner of CrowdHut, the first full-service platform for crowdfunded products and services. CrowdHut allows those entrepreneurs who have at some point successfully raised capital for their product or service through crowdfunding to sell their product through CrowdHut's recently launched eCommerce website.
