Funding Tuesday Webinar Series: Bootstrapping - An Alternative Answer to Funding

The sad fact is actually that less than 10% of entrepreneurs looking for external funding actually receive it from an informal investor. Horror stories about average funding statistics are getting worse: The 10% that actually receive funding are searching on average for 1 to 1,5 years; speak to at least 20 investors; have 30

updated versions of their business plan; and send out their business plan to over hundred investors and other wannabe funders. That is not good news! And the million dollar question has to be: How is the other 90% surviving?
This webinar, the tenth one in a series of 15 webinars, will share with you our thoughts on bootstrapping. It refers to self-sustaining your own company, without financial help from others. Compared to using external funding, bootstrapping can be beneficial as the entrepreneur is able to maintain control over all decisions. On the other hand, this form of financing may place unnecessary financial risk on the entrepreneur. In addition, growth maybe not be as big as planned. How to deal with this, and how to bootstrap successfully without taking to much extra risk for both
your company as well as yourself!
