Registration for this event has ended.

Event Recap

So what does it take to be a young entrepreneur in today's economy?  Are having great ideas enough?  How does a student or recent graduate put these ideas into actual business plans with a viable profitable model?  This was what EFactor's event was all about, giving you a series of speakers and panelist who provided incredible insights on how to take your own creative thoughts into a working business model.

MIT professor on entrepreneurship, Imran Sayeed, was the keynote speaker who moderated the event that also featured: Dan Schawbel (Millenial Branding,) and a series of panelists who were all under the age of 30, with incredible success stories that everyone can learn from: Parie Markowitz (Bite Sized Candy,) Chase Garbarino (Bostinnovation,) Charles Clemet (Ashoka, Youth Venture,) and of course, David Hauser (Grasshopper.)  The discussion with the group covered questions such as: How important is the ability to adapt to changing market environment for a startup?  When is taking risks an advantage or a disadvantage? What are the motivating factors for young entrepreneurs under 30?  What is the best path to entrepreneurship for a young professional? Are having co-founders important?

The passionate discussion was filled with conflicting opinions and views in agreeance.  When it came to the point of whether an entrepeneur is born to be one or can be made into one, it came with contrasting point of views.  Yet, on the topic of doing due-dilligence work, having passion as a motivating factor, everyone on the panel agreed on the same factors.  There's no doubt that, to make a business out of a simple idea takes different tries, and ultimate drive to make things work.

The audience at this EFactor event was filled with students and recent graduates from the Bosto area, many asked detailed questions about how to implement their ideas into action, and most were inspired by stories shared by the panel.  Photos from the event will be posted very soon, EFactor looks forward to future events coming up in the Boston area!
